One Day at a Time Boys, is a project that tells the story of life after addiction, informed by people in recovery. The stories are told through documentary, film, photography, art and poetry. Through this lens, the project gives voice to what it means to be in recovery, how community brings us together and how new interests and beliefs shape us and inform our values. In September 2021, artist Sam Batley and a group of fellow residents from Damien John Kelly House, showcased work from the project on our exterior wall gallery. This exhibition documented the production journey of a new film, Three Bull-Mastiffs in a Corner Kitchen and documentary / photographic series, One Day At A Time through behind the scenes images by Sam Batley, Paul Chambers, Jamie Maxfield, Matty Owen, Wayne Goldie and Craig Taylor.

For this Gallery 2 lab programme take over, Sam and the lads invite you to join them for an interactive portrait workshop, based on a process the group went through together when producing their work. They will also be on-hand to chat in more detail about the project as a whole.
