DIGITAL WINDOW GALLERY: OPEN SOURCE 03 – OLLIE HAYWARD
1 January - 31 January 2019
Digital Window Gallery Exhibition
Documenting himself performing alongside a sculpture resembling flesh and limbs, Ollie Hayward has produced a body of work over the course of five sequences (the final being a video) that examines how each of us interact with the complex ideas we have of ourselves.
The flesh sculptures are both beautiful and monstrous. They symbolise how each of us interacts with the often complex ideas we have of ourselves, the painful journey we all go through towards understanding and accepting our flaws; the need and want to be loved, the pride we feel when it is reciprocated. Grotesque but familiar, the sculpture is everyone and part of us all.

Open Source is part of our responsive programme, offering our on and offline resources for others to use. There is no theme and no limit to number of submissions, but we encourage projects that engage with themes explored in our exhibitions. The aim of the platform is to make lesser-known artists more visible.
