Proximity by Stephen McCoy was originated by Open Eye Gallery, where it was curated by Max Gorbatskyi and on display from November 2024 to January 2025. Stephen McCoy has spent 45 years living, working, and photographing on Merseyside. “Proximity” explores his deep connection with the people and places of the region, tracing the development of his photographic practice over the decades. The exhibition features a selection of works from his major projects, spanning from 1979 to the present.
Proximity will be exhibited at Martin Parr Foundation (Bristol) from 2 October–21 December. 10 October kick off the BOP Bristol festival weekend with an evening of photography and drinks at the exhibition party to launch the show.
