Culture Shifts
Culture Shifts was a socially engaged photography programme from Open Eye Gallery. Some of the projects continue today.
Culture Shifts, 11 photographers became involved within the daily lives of communities across Liverpool City Region. Photographers supported people from various communities to explore their collective stories in a way that was meaningful to them.
Collaborating with photographers, communities co-authored a series of photo projects, reflecting on their identity, interests or lives. We exhibited these projects in spaces local to each of the communities, alongside a group show at Open Eye Gallery.
A digital platform accompanies this project, with ongoing contributions from the public. PhotoStories is free and open to all: everyone is welcome to share sequences of photos that tell the story of a place, person or community. Get involved at www.photostories.org.uk/
