Open Call: Gardens

The future exhibition at Open Eye Gallery, Is This A Garden? (26 June – 31 August), starts from the idea of “gardens” but looks beyond traditional views of them, exploring how they appear in unexpected ways, on the edges of things, and how they shape (or are shaped by) the people and environments around them.

We’d love to see your take on the gardens! Those could be family album photographs or recent photographs of things happening in a garden (family gathering, football game or a visiting puppy). We’d be happy to see your garden or public gardens.

Selected images will be printed and displayed as part of the exhibition.

If you’d like your photographs to be included, please send us up to three digital images (highest resolution possible, 30Mb maximum size, no AI or digitally-manipulated images) via email to garden@openeye.org.uk, together with:

  • email subject Gardens Open Call
  • your name,
  • your postcode,
  • an optional text (up to 100 words) about the images (we might edit it slightly or only include an excerpt),
  • and a statement, “I confirm that these images are nobody else’s intellectual property and I have the right to show them in a public exhibition.”

Open to anyone over the age of 18 and currently based in the UK.

Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis until Sunday 16 August. We’ll be printing selected images and adding them to the exhibition as soon as we get them, so the earlier you submit, the longer your images will be exhibited!

We maintain the right to refuse to share images at our discretion.
