We Feed The UK Launch and LOOK Climate Lab 2024 Celebration
8 FEBRUARY / 6 PM – 8 PM / RSVP
Join us for a private view of the inaugural We Feed The UK exhibition, featuring photography by Johannes Pretorius and previews of all ten We Feed The UK stories from The Gaia Foundation. Unique cross-sector collaborations will be brought to life through poetry performances from the incredible Hot Poets, followed by music from Dance For Plants, the greenest groves in Liverpool.
This forms part of the LOOK Climate Lab 2024 programme at Open Eye Gallery, and launches a year-long, nationwide series of events.
We Feed The UK is a radical reframing of regenerative farmers, food growers and grain rebels; custodians of biocultural diversity across land, sea, soil and seed. Their nature-friendly practices are the root of our future resilience, and the time is ripe to elevate these efforts in support of the regenerative farming transition.
Stories:
From crisis to kinship: healing people and place on the first community-owned farm in England // Agri-culture: a lineage of hedgerow ligging in Cumbria // Cultivating equality: women working with land in Scotland // In Deep Water: Sustainable Fishing along the South coast // Food justice: served fresh from community farms in London // Down to Earth: Restoring our soils // Fibre: nature-friendly flax farming in Northern Ireland // Custodians of the land: intergenerational nature restoration in Wales // A Food Revolution Starts with Seed: Grain Rebels in the South West // No diggity: keeping carbon underground in the Black Country
