OPEN SOURCE #24 DARAGH DRAKE
ANAM CARA
OPEN TUES–SUN / 10AM–5PM
Anam Cara is an ode to love, friendship and life. It represents forming and continued growth as a person through those held dear. The project is inspired by John O’Donohue’s writings on Celtic Spirituality and was developed during lockdown. Within Celtic Spiritualism solitude brings forth the true sentiments of the soul, this unreservedly led to emotions of both joy and deep sadness due to the passing of a number of close friends. This project is in memoriam to them and their impact on Daragh’s life along with a celebration of those whom have impacted and remain in the physical.
Daragh’s work has both a cultural and societal focus based around his upbringing in Ireland and experience of living in London. Having moved to London in 2014 he cofounded the sustainable fashion business Gasoline Rainbows. Graduating from University of Westminster in 2021.
