ECOSYSTEM 2: OPEN CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS

Ecosystem 2 is an ongoing project that explores the use of mapping platforms and data alongside particpatory art-science activities. As part of the LOOK Climate lab we will be running a free workshop series where we ask participants to become a part of an artwork that explores movement across urban spaces, with a focus on the city of Liverpool.

Participants must live and work in the city of Liverpool. We are looking for participants to collect and contribute a weeks worth of GPS data that tracks their movement across the city for a week in order to explore and have some fun looking at how transport and movement through the city can be illustrated in new and engaging ways to audiences.

The outcome of the project will involve collecting a weeks worth of data and then processing this into a data artwork using the open source mapping platform Cesium. The artwork will design an interface to look at 7 participants GPS data simultaneously to give audiences an idea of the journeys we take to live our day to day lives in the city. Personal data such as home addresses will be kept anonymous at all times.

At the end of the project we will display the artwork as part of the LOOK Climate Lab.

If you are interested in being one of the participants please fill in this short form to help us get back in touch.
