Zine Launch: PLATFORM Issue 5
THURSDAY 20 APRIL / 6–8PM / OPEN EYE GALLERY
FREE, REGISTER HERE
Join us for the launch of Issue 5 of the volunteer-led zine PLATFORM, celebrating the creativity of Open Eye Gallery’s volunteer team.
Issue 5 is about reflection and what can be gained from looking back on what has been. Although our past is something we cannot change, through reflection we can learn and grow from our experience. Our future is still unknown, but we can shape it with action in the present.
We’d like to thank everyone who has contributed to this issue and responded to the theme in a number of ways. From memories of teenage years of adventure and independence, and meditations on photography’s ability to preserve the present moment, to thoughts on the human impact on the environment.
A percentage of sales of printed issues will be donated to ANDYSMANCLUB, a men’s suicide prevention charity, offering free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the United Kingdom and online. ANDYSMANCLUB want to end the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and help men through the power of conversation. #ITSOKAYTOTALK
All welcome!
