The Art of Social Mobility with Tate Liverpool

20 November - 25 October 2018

20 – 25 NOVEMBER / FREE / 10AM – 6PM

DAILY

Exploring themes of social mobility with communities across Merseyside

Open eye Gallery is delighted to present a series of community led discussions, screenings, and interactive workshops exploring ideas of social mobility. Each local community group and their collaborating artists are keen to share the ideas and works they have been producing to date, inviting you the audience to respond.

Residents from the Northwood Golden Generation group discuss changes in their own local area, evidencing how regeneration and urban development can affect social mobility and access to each other. Join in with the discussion whilst we also play a game of Boccia. The Liverpool Digital Ambassadors will showcase their own personal spin on the history of Liverpool, with a newly commissioned work, re-animating North West film archive footage of the area. Other groups come together to discuss their own local context, and how as local residents they champion to break down barriers of isolation through creative social activity.

This project is part of the Young At Art programme in partnership with FACT and Happy Older People's Network, supported by Celebrating Age fund by Arts Council England and Baring Foundation.

Thanks to Young at art programme, Celebrating Age by ACE and Baring Foundation and thanks to PH Holt Foundation for the Kirkby strand of the programme.
