TERENCE HENG: CHINATOWN PHOTOWALK

TERENCE HENG: CHINATOWN PHOTOWALK

16 JUNE / FREE / 2PM – 4PM

BOOK HERE

Join sociologist and photographer Terence Heng as we explore the different photographic ways in which we can document, record and interrogate the street. On this walk through the streets of Chinatown and down to the docks, we’ll consider how photography can create narratives around what are often seen as transitory and liminal places, yet form a large part of our experience of a city. The walk will start at the Chinese arch in Liverpool’s Chinatown, weaving through Duke Street, Liverpool One before ending at Pier Head.

Terence Heng is a Lecturer in Sociology and Associate at the Centre for Architecture and the Visual Arts at the University of Liverpool. He recently launched his second book, Visual Methods in the Field: Photography for the Social Sciences (Routledge) at the Open Eye Gallery. Terence’s work on urban spiritscapes has been exhibited in Canada, Australia and Singapore.
