Shop the Look Project with Emma Summerscales Open studio
FRIDAY 11 FEBRUARY / 11AM–4PM
The project explores the idea of interpreting trends using second hand garments, celebrating the joy of fashion without the climate suffering the impact of overproduction and waste to landfill.
Prior to the exhibition, Emma Summerscales will compile an online trend report for upcoming seasons using WGSN trend forecasting. This can later be accessible to visitors via a QR code. Emma will then scout the charity and vintage stores as well as their own studio stock to select garments for upcycling. Alongside research, Emma will sketch out designs and experiment with garments, in preparation for an open studio exhibition day in the gallery, which will showcase work at various stages of remaking. the process will be recorded and documented for viewing either on screen or via the QR code.
