Coinciding with the launch of the climate photography exhibition Before it Melts into Solid, Open Eye Gallery is hosting a panel discussion to talk about our local and global relationship to climate change. Looking at images from the exhibition, we will reflect on St Helen’s industrial heritage and discuss possibilities of sustainable futures.
All are welcome! This is an open conversation inviting all local voices to share their thoughts with the exhibiting artists and environmental experts.
Join us this weekend and meet the speakers:
Andy Bowden, St Helens Cabinet Member for Environment and Transport,
James Wrigley, curator of the climate change photographic digital archive Ways of Living,
Andy Broadey, exhibition artist exploring collages of the North West’s industrial histories,
Kevin Crooks, exhibition photographer researching the legacy of St Helens coal mining industry,
and Carmel College photography students, exhibiting artists sharing images related to the climate agenda and the local context.
The panel will be moderated by Sarah Fisher, Executive Director of Open Eye Gallery.
Event followed by refreshments in the garden to launch the Before it Melts into Solid exhibition.
