BETWEEN THE BORDERS ZINE-MAKING WORKSHOP

13 September 2017

Between the Borders is an open collective of people with and without citizenship in the UK, based in Liverpool. They produce a collaborative zine that provides a platform for migrant voices as well as seeking to contribute to the broader conversation around asylum, migration and movement.

In this workshop, participants will take part in a series of exercises responding to Yetunde Adebiyi’s current exhibition, part of Open 3: Affecting Change. These collaborative exercises will produce the content for a new zine, democratically created by everybody taking part.

Through photographs, video projections and wall vinyls, Yetunde explores the everyday activities of Between The Borders. She also documents a regular ongoing protest at Yarl’s Wood Immigration Removal Centre, a controversial detention facility in Bedfordshire for people (mostly women) awaiting deportation.

Places are free but very limited: to get a place, please email info@openeye.org.uk.
