Mersey Green Maps: Start-ups and new Voluntary Groups Workshop

FRIDAY 4 FEBRUARY / 1–2:30PM / BOOK HERE

Start-ups

MGM was set up to not only support existing organisations but also to encourage and support new green businesses in the Mersey Region. There will be a talk from 2 startups who are on Mersey green Map about setting up a green enterprise. We will also provide information about three green business models, Co–operatives, CICs and Charities.

Workshop Outline

1. Background information, who we are and our achievements so far

2. Demonstration: how to find organisations on the map

3. Interactive event, using your smartphone, iPad or tablet to look for green organisations of interest to you. (A tablet can be made available on request).

4. Video presentation from a sample of organisations on MGM

5. You tell us about green and fair organisations local to you

6. Future plans

About the organisers

We are volunteers and members of Transition Liverpool CIC. Bernadette Colligan and Margaret Smith are two members of the Mersey Green Map (MGM) working committee.

Further information

The Mersey Green Map (MGM) working committee is providing this as a resource for people across the Mersey Region who would like to support enterprises and voluntary groups that are local, green and fair (to people and planet).

MGM was launched in November 2020. Since then, more than 100 organisations have put themselves on the map. So far, these have mainly been based in Liverpool and the Wirral. Our plan for the coming year is to reach out to areas that are less well represented across the Mersey Region.

Please pass these links to local, green and fair businesses and organisations in your area and invite them to put themselves on the map by filling out the short survey HERE. Once the form is filled in and checked, the group can be added to the Mersey Green Map.

You can contact Mersey Green Map at: merseygreenmap@gmail.com

We thank the Solidarity Economy Association for providing us with this map.
