Joseph Lee: Mindful Photo Workshop
11 December 1.30 – 3.30 pm / Open Eye Gallery / BOOK HERE
The Mindful Photo Project explores the potential of a combined practice of mindfulness and photography to forge connections. This exploration grew out of a concern about how, despite being more connected than ever via new technologies and social media, we have lost real connection to ourselves, each other and our environment. There is irrefutable evidence to suggest that this atomisation of society is impacting our collective health and the pandemic has only deepened this sense of disconnection. Their work is about redressing this balance and reconnecting through a flexible series of photographic assignments which are underpinned by principles of Mindfulness. It raises questions about how we see and thus connect with each other and the things we encounter everyday. How through practice we can begin to see and appreciate the vividness of the world around us. How taking a photograph can require us to be more present and focussed on a moment, just as it is.
Mindful Photo will be running two taster workshops, which will serve as an introduction to their work and we very much hope you can join us.
